Assitan and the world

Hiii there, and welcome to MARSEILLE baby <3

First of all, I would like to say that this album is very special to me because I have always wanted to visit the second-largest city in France! I really think I have a special bond with Marseille: when I was younger, I used to watch a French TV soap called "Plus Belle La Vie" every single evening at 8p.m. (This was my most important appointment for sure lol!) The series was set in Marseille, and I truly started to be fascinated by the city. I remember I was also supporting "OM", their city's soccer team without any specific reason haha!

So, to be honest, this trip to Marseille was not really planned for this year, even if the city was on my Bucket list for a long time. BUT, in mid-April, I felt that I wanted and needed to go on a solo trip quickly... At first, I was thinking about Madrid but the costs were quite high, so I suddenly decided to visit Marseille (a pretty good choice ^^). I can definitely say that it was a spontaneous trip because I chose the destination, booked my train ticket and Airbnb a week before going

Regarding this travel, I spent an amazing moment with myself haha! I don't how to explain it, but solo trips are always the best therapy for me. Even though I like spending time with my friends and traveling with them, sometimes it is just necessary for me to be alone, follow my own desires, visit at my own rhythm, and find the sense of peace I need...

We are used to hearing a lot about insecurities in Marseille, but everything went well for me and I didn't experience any trouble in the street... Even if my Airbnb was in an old building, it was actually very safe and super well located: right behind the Vieux-Port which made it easy for me to visit the whole city! Of course, I would recommend avoiding risky areas and staying in tourist zones...

I fall in love with two districts: the Panier, and the Cours Julien well-known for their Street Art. If you visit the city you will find many spots near the Vieux-Port as: La Mayor's Cathedrale,  the Mucem, and Fort Saint-Jean.  The Vallon des Auffes is a beautiful place along the Kennedy Corniche where you can walk around. You can do some shopping et buy the real and famous Marseille soap on La Cannebière Avenue. Do not forget to see the mythical Orange Vélodrome and visit the highest point of view of the city: Notre-Dame de la Garde. If you don't have the time to visit the Calanques on foot, you can choose the boat option and pass in front of the main ones as: Sormiou, Morgiou, and Sugiton...

You will also eat well in Marseille: Bouillabaisse, Garlic bread, Lobster sandwich, grilled Sardines, Navettes... OMG I just want to go back there to eat again these delicious meals!

I hope you will enjoy the city's photos as I do - Assitan <3
